Terri Butler is a quilt designer and pattern writer, celebrated for her expertise and creativity in the quilting community. As a Studio 180 Design Certified Instructor, she enthusiastically shares her quilting knowledge with students and enthusiasts. Her unique style and innovative designs have been featured in numerous quilt magazines.
Terri's sewing journey began at the age of six, honing her skills at her family's sewing factory for many years. In 2008, she found her calling in quilting. She has designed quilts for esteemed fabric designers like Stephanie Sliwinski of Fancy That Design House & Co and Jackie MacDonald of Sweetfire Road, both for Moda Fabrics. Additionally, she has created patterns for QT Fabrics and The World of Susybee, a Clothworks brand.
In 2024, Terri directed her focus to OBW quilted jackets and developed a "template" that serves as a canvas for creating these unique quilted jackets.
Terri maintains a strong online presence through her website, Mama Said Sew LLC, and engages with her community via her Facebook page, Mama Said Sew-Terri Butler, and Instagram account, mama_said_sew_terri_butler. In collaboration with Jackie O'Brien of If These Threads Could Talk, Terri designs matching OBW jackets to complement Jackie's OBW quilts. They share their creative projects on their joint Facebook page, "Mama Said These Threads Could Talk."
